Victory at the MINT 400 2024 - Team MagnaFlow Camburg

Race tested and race proven is not an empty slogan when walking the floors at MagnaFlow and Camburg. We use racing to validate our products under the harshest conditions and most challenging terrain.

The 2024 race season began with a challenge for Team MagnaFlow Camburg, as power steering issues sidelined them in Parker after leading much of the race.

The team rebounded in dramatic fashion last month in Johnson Valley, entering King of the Hammers as a grounds to test changes including the power steering and Camburg built and designed race brake calipers. Despite entering with the intentions to test, Driver Kyle Jergensen and Co-Driver, Shawn Shanks guided the team to victory, crowning Team MagnaFlow Camburg class champions of the Toyo Tires Desert Challenge.

Expectations for the truck were sky high for the Great American Off-Road Race, the Mint 400.

Qualifying 

The stage was set for Team MagnaFlow Camburg after Friday’s qualifying. Driver Kyle Jergensen, along with co-driver Shawn Shanks, ripped through the course with a time of 4:14.185, placing them first in class for the Unlimited SPEC Trucks.

Race Day

Taking off behind over 30 Unlimited trucks and buggys, the team wasted no time, quickly moving up the overall leaderboard. At the end of Lap 1 (of 4) the team was in 9th place overall and 1st in class.

Throughout Lap 2, the team continued picking off Unlimited competitors posting a 1:43.13, bringing them up to 5th in the overall field.

Team MagnaFlow Camburg kept the momentum going throughout Lap 3, moving up to 3rd overall and continuing to hold the first-in-class position. Throughout the day, the team was relaying Kyle’s time splits, and he managed the 3-4 minute gap between him and 2nd place.

Riding strong all day and on their last lap, the #222 truck experienced their first hiccup with what driver Kyle Jergensen would later call a “well-deserved” flat. Co-Driver Shawn Shanks – along with Jergensen - wasted no time with the swap, and the team was back on the course in short order. Kyle turned up the pace all the way to the finish to make sure he didn’t fall back on corrected time.

With the sun setting over Primm, the team was able to hold off a late-charging Troy Grabowski, bringing home the Mint 400 Unlimited SPEC crown! And a 2nd place overall finish factoring in all Unlimited trucks! Not only taking the class win but also finishing 2nd overall with Unlimited trucks with double the horsepower and some being AWD is a reflection of Camburg’s KINETIK race trucks and the team's caliber of racing.

After the race Jergensen was humble, saying “Our truck did most of the work today, it feels the same now (at the finish line) as it did when we started.” The statement is a testament to not only Camburg and MagnaFlow products, but to the team's sponsors as well.

Winners of arguably the two most highly coveted off-road races in the United States, Team MagnaFlow Camburg looks to finish out the ’24 season strong when they head to Barstow in October for the California 300.
